NICEVILLE, Fla. — LJ Schooners Dockside Restaurant will host a fundraising event on April 12 to support the community’s annual fireworks display over Boggy Bayou.
The restaurant, located at the Bluewater Bay Marina Complex, will donate 10 percent of its dinner proceeds on Saturday evening to the Niceville Fireworks Trust Fund. The fund helps cover the cost of the city’s July 4th celebration, a popular annual tradition shared by the cities of Niceville and Valparaiso.
The event will feature a crawfish boil with MudBugz starting at 5 p.m., followed by live music from the band Purple Monkey from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant encourages guests to enjoy the food, music, and waterfront views while helping fund the fireworks show.
“We are extremely proud of our community firework show and wish to support this wonderful community event,” the restaurant said in the announcement.
The Independence Day fireworks show is launched from a custom barge positioned on Boggy Bayou between Lions Park in Niceville and Lincoln Park in Valparaiso. The event typically draws crowds to waterfront parks and viewing areas around the bayou, including Kiwanis Park, Shipyard Point Park, and Niceville Landing.
LJ Schooners is named after Lazy Jack, a locally famous dog recognized for his adventures along the Gulf Coast. The restaurant is known for its relaxed outdoor dining, fresh local seafood, and sunset views over the marina.
