NICEVILLE, Fla. — Paddle enthusiasts and newcomers alike are invited to Bluewater Bay Marina on Saturday, September 5, for a Paddle Rodeo offering participants a chance to try a variety of paddle craft on the water.
The event begins at 10 a.m. at the marina, 290 Yacht Club Drive in Bluewater Bay.
Organizers said participants can explore and try paddle boards, OC1 and OC2 outrigger canoes, surf skis, and other paddle craft at the Paddle Rodeo.
The event is intended to give people an opportunity to experience different types of paddle craft and find one that might be a good fit for them. No racing is planned.
Those who already own a paddle board or boat are encouraged to bring it if they are comfortable allowing other participants to give it a try. Organizers hope having a variety of privately owned craft available will provide even more opportunities for participants to experience something different.
“Never tried an outrigger canoe? Curious about a surf ski? Want to see what kind of paddle craft fits you best? This is your chance!” organizers said in announcing the event.
The Paddle Rodeo is being promoted as a casual morning on the water with no racing or pressure, just an opportunity to paddle, try different craft, and have fun.
