NICEVILLE, Fla. — A Niceville author has published a children’s book inspired by her late daughter, with proceeds benefiting pediatric cancer research and copies being donated to hospitals and childhood cancer organizations nationwide.
Frances Fulcher recently released Amazing Grace and the Wishing Tree, a children’s book based on the life and legacy of her daughter, Grace Fulcher, who died from pediatric brain cancer eight years ago. The story is intended to offer hope, faith, and encouragement to children and families facing cancer.
The book follows Amazing Grace and her brother, Mighty Maxx, as they discover a wishing tree whose colorful ribbons carry prayers, dreams, and wishes to Heaven. As Grace undergoes cancer treatment, family members, friends, medical professionals, and fellow patients gather beneath the tree, learning that hope, love, and faith can endure even during life’s most difficult moments.

Grace Fulcher was diagnosed with the rare brain cancer anaplastic astrocytoma while in high school. According to the publisher, she completed radiation and chemotherapy treatments while graduating summa cum laude in 2017 and remained active in leadership, service, and faith-based organizations. Her music, faith, and positive outlook inspired many people throughout her life.
Mrs Fulcher became a caregiver and advocate following her daughter’s diagnosis. She has served as a Team Captain for Gold Together for Childhood Cancer and as a Voice of Hope with the American Cancer Society, continuing to raise awareness and support pediatric cancer research.
According to Bell Asteri Publishing, proceeds from book sales will support pediatric cancer research. The publisher also plans to donate copies of the book to hospitals and childhood cancer organizations across the country.
