NICEVILLE, Fla. — Wawa will open its new Niceville store Thursday, August 27, with a grand opening celebration featuring free coffee, giveaways, a ribbon cutting and a hoagie-building competition between local first responders.

The new store is located at 1560 E. John Sims Parkway. The festivities are scheduled to begin at 7:55 a.m., when Wawa General Manager Thomas Hunton will lead a countdown to the store’s opening.
Doors will open for the first time at 8 a.m. The first 100 customers will receive free Wawa T-shirts while supplies last, according to the company.
Wawa also will offer customers free hot coffee in any size through August 30.

A ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and will include remarks, a ribbon cutting and a Hoagies for Heroes hoagie-building competition featuring local police and fire department first responders.
Wawa Director of Store Operations Joseph Collins, Area Manager Kevin McGrath and Mr Hunton are expected to participate, along with state and local officials, first responders, customers and Wally Goose, the company’s mascot.
The Niceville location will be Wawa’s 56th store to open out of nearly 100 stores the company plans to open in 2026. The openings are part of Wawa’s 2026 Grand Opening Tour, which includes communities in 14 states across the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Midwest.
Wawa said it is holding the grand opening celebrations during the nation’s 250th birthday year to celebrate the communities served by its stores.

According to the company, Wawa invests more than $7.5 million to build each new store and employs an average of 140 contractors and local partners during construction. Once open, each store employs an average of 35 associates.
