OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers in Okaloosa and Walton counties may encounter lane closures and other traffic disruptions this week as crews continue construction and maintenance projects, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road and on Santa Rosa Boulevard from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park from Sunday, Aug. 23, through Thursday, Aug. 27, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for construction activities.
State Road 85 Resurfacing Project from U.S. 98 to Richbourg Avenue
Drivers will encounter construction-related impacts from Sunday, Aug. 23, through Thursday, Aug. 27, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Intermittent northbound outside right-lane closures are planned on State Road 85 between Yacht Club Drive NE and the bridge at Cinco Bayou as crews install drainage structures.
- As part of the work, the entrance to Laguna Landing Condominiums will be temporarily closed. Residents will access State Road 85 via Yacht Club Drive NE. Signage will be in place to guide drivers safely through the work zone.
- Pedestrians will encounter intermittent sidewalk closures between U.S. 98 and Richbourg Avenue as crews install new pedestrian signals along State Road 85.
- Intermittent and alternating lane closures are also planned between U.S. 98 and Richbourg Avenue for paving operations.

U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road
Shoulder closures are expected throughout the project limits from Monday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 28, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for permit work and turn-lane improvements.
Lane closures are expected from Sunday, Aug. 23, through Thursday, Aug. 27, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving operations.
State Road 293 (Danny Wuerffel Way) Resurfacing from U.S. 98 to the Mid-Bay Bridge
Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 from Paraiso Boulevard to Regions Way and on State Road 293 (Danny Wuerffel Way) from U.S. 98 to the Mid-Bay Bridge for striping operations.
State Road 85 Routine Maintenance at Richbourg Lane
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures Sunday, Aug. 23, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for routine maintenance.

Walton County
Western Lake Bridge Replacement Project
During the week of Sunday, Aug. 23, drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on County Road 30A near Western Lake Bridge.
- Intermittent traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less are planned between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. to accommodate material and equipment deliveries.
- Temporary lane closures are planned between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. for roadway and bridge construction activities, including removal of the temporary barrier wall.
U.S. 90 Turn Lane Operations at Bonita Drive
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures from Monday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 28, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for turn-lane operations.
U.S. 331 Routine Bridge Maintenance, Choctawhatchee Bay (Clyde B. Wells Bridge)
Motorists may encounter intermittent northbound lane closures north of U.S. 98 Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for routine bridge maintenance.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
