NICEVILLE, Fla.—Niceville residents have an easy way to make a big difference in our community. The National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive takes place this Saturday, May 11.
The need for food assistance is substantial, and local food pantries like Sharing and Caring Niceville and Niceville Catholic Outreach depend on this event for crucial supplies.
According to John Plante, publicity volunteer for Sharing and Caring Niceville, the drive is “a huge help in supporting our community.”
To participate, leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods next to your mailbox before the regular mail delivery on Saturday. Suggested donations include canned soup, canned vegetables, canned meats and fish, pasta, peanut butter, rice and cereal.
Your letter carrier will collect and deliver the donations to local food banks.
Since its beginning in 1993, the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has become the nation’s largest single-day food drive.
Let’s work together to Stamp Out Hunger in Niceville!
