EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Eglin Air Force Base will conduct munitions testing in Choctawhatchee Bay from today through July 2, with mariners required to remain clear of the designated hazard zone during testing operations.
According to Eglin Air Force Base, testing is scheduled each day from noon to 6 p.m. and from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The active hazard zone begins approximately 2.5 nautical miles from the shoreline of Choctawhatchee Bay and extends 8 nautical miles across. All vessels are required to remain outside the area while testing is underway. Eglin did not release a map of the hazard zone.
The base said advisories and Local Notices to Mariners will be broadcast on VHF Channel 16 and on HF upper sideband 2182 kHz by the Eglin Joint Test and Training Operations Control Center.
Testing schedules are subject to change based on weather or mission requirements.
