OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers should expect nighttime lane closures and other traffic impacts on several major roadways across Okaloosa County this week as the Florida Department of Transportation continues resurfacing, bridge replacement, and maintenance projects.

From Sunday, July 12, through Thursday, July 16, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., drivers can expect intermittent northbound outside lane closures on State Road 85 between Yacht Club Drive NE and the bridge at Cinco Bayou as crews install drainage structures. During that work, the entrance to Laguna Landing Condominiums will be temporarily closed, and residents will be directed to access State Road 85 via Yacht Club Drive NE.
Motorists should also expect intermittent and alternating lane closures for paving operations between U.S. 98 and Richbourg Avenue, while pedestrians may encounter intermittent sidewalk closures as crews install new pedestrian signals.
— U.S. 98 resurfacing
Along U.S. 98 from the Santa Rosa County line to west of Josie Road, shoulder closures are scheduled Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for permit work and turn lane improvements.
Nighttime lane closures are also planned Sunday, July 12, through Thursday, July 16, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for shoulder and median improvements.
— State Road 293 resurfacing
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 from Paraiso Boulevard to Regions Way and on State Road 293 (Danny Wuerffel Way) from U.S. 98 to the Mid-Bay Bridge from Sunday, July 12, through Thursday, July 16, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for signalization and striping work.
Additional intermittent nighttime lane closures are planned on State Road 293 between the Mid-Bay Bridge and Range Road during the same period for milling and paving operations.

Drivers should expect alternating lane closures in both directions of Interstate 10 between mile markers 59 and 70 on Tuesday, July 14, and Wednesday, July 15, from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. for paving operations.
All work is weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled because of inclement weather. FDOT reminds motorists to use caution in work zones, especially at night, and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and leaving the roadway.
