CRESTVIEW, Fla. – Davidson Middle School in Crestview is welcoming its new assistant principal.
The Okaloosa County School Board approved Carissa Ruschmeier as the assistant principal of Davidson Middle School at its August 14, 2023, school board meeting.
According to the Okaloosa County School District (OCSD), Ruschmeier, who attended school in Okaloosa County herself, has been a teacher here for 20 years.
Ruschmeier graduated from Crestview High School in 1998 and earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of West Florida. She later received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington.
She has taught 9th and 10th-grade English and English Honors, as well as Advanced Placement Literature, Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) General Paper, and Credit Recovery.
Ruschmeier started her career at Fort Walton Beach High School and has spent the last 19 years as a Bulldog at Crestview High School.
Ruschmeier has one son, Brayden, who graduated from Crestview High School last year.
