In July, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) issued an executive order to align the 2024-25 recreational season in state waters with the federal season, running from Sept. 1 to Oct. 31, as approved by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council. This updated season aims to support the ongoing effort to rebuild the greater amberjack stock in the Gulf.
