OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Okaloosa Saves has been named a 2024 America Saves Savings Champion, an award reserved for organizations that effectively promote saving strategies during the annual America Saves Week campaign.
Out of more than 4,600 participating organizations, Okaloosa Saves is one of just 18 to receive this distinction during America Saves Week, which took place from April 8 to 12, 2024, as part of Financial Capability Month. The initiative led to nearly $354 million in deposits into new and existing accounts, with 231,000 new accounts opened and 64,000 individuals increasing their automatic savings.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate these organizations for earning the 2024 Saving Champion Award,” said Carolyn Pemberton, senior program manager at America Saves.
“Their dedication to fostering a culture of savings through innovative strategies has illuminated the path to financial security, inspiring countless individuals to embrace the power of savings.”
Okaloosa Saves, which has been guiding residents of Northwest Florida for 20 years, is committed to teaching the importance of reducing debt and building wealth.
“We enjoy teaching the importance of reducing debt and building wealth by creating a plan to save money year-round,” said Laura Coale, Board Chair of Okaloosa Saves.
“Financial wellness helps promote overall wellness, and we appreciate our partnership with America Saves.”
