Claudio Solano-Olascoaga is said to have orchestrated a series of retail thefts spanning several months across multiple stores in Okaloosa County and neighboring counties, according to the OCSO. Investigators reportedly uncovered a scheme in which he allegedly stole merchandise through deceptive means, causing significant financial losses to businesses.

Retail loss prevention investigators, working with OCSO detectives, identified Mr Solano-Olascoaga as a suspect after stores reported substantial theft-related losses. A search warrant was executed at his home in the early hours of March 11, leading to his arrest without incident, the OCSO said.

The sheriff’s office said the arrest is part of an ongoing effort to combat organized retail crime and safeguard local businesses. Investigators continue to gather evidence, and additional charges may be forthcoming.

The OCSO emphasized its commitment to working with retailers and other law enforcement agencies to prevent retail theft and protect the community.
