November 10 COVID-19 report for Okaloosa, Niceville

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports today the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 7,195, 86 new cases since yesterday. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville and Valparaiso is 981.

Based on population, Okaloosa should be recording 21 or fewer new cases per day to achieve a positivity rate of below 10 cases per 100,000 in population

Statewide, 4,353 new cases were reported by the FDOH.

The DOH reports the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Okaloosa County is 139, no change.

The number of cumulative hospitalizations related to coronavirus in Okaloosa is reported to be 366, three since yesterday. The FDOH reports today there are 40 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.

Okaloosa County drive-thru testing

According to the FDOH, there were 401 test results returned yesterday in Okaloosa with 87 positives. The daily positivity rate is 21.7 percent, up from 11.31 percent the previous day.

A positivity rate of 10 percent or higher is considered an indicator of widespread transmission. 

Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate is 13.61 percent for the week ending Nov. 7, up from 13.19 percent the previous week, according to the FDOH.

Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 7.4 percent (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.
