The Okaloosa County School District (OCSD) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 2 at Okaloosa Technical College to mark the facility’s opening.

The clinic was developed in partnership with Marathon Health and is available to employees and their dependents enrolled in the district’s health plan. Services include preventive screenings, treatment for illnesses, chronic condition support, and prescription services at no additional cost.

Appointments are designed to align with the school district’s schedule, and each patient is assigned a dedicated healthcare provider.

“This clinic represents an important step forward in how we support our employees,” said Superintendent Marcus Chambers.

“By removing barriers like cost and access, we are making it easier for our staff to prioritize their health, something that directly impacts their ability to support our students each day.”

The clinic is part of OCSD’s transition to a self-funded healthcare model, which allows the district to manage healthcare costs directly while expanding services for employees.

Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Lindsay Maxey said the initiative is expected to have a broader impact across the district.

“This is a meaningful investment in our people,” Ms Maxey said.

“When we support the health and well-being of our employees, we are strengthening our entire district and the communities we serve.”

Marathon Health Regional Operations Manager Paul Lutz said the clinic helps bring care directly to those who need it.

“By bringing care directly to the people we serve, we help remove barriers so that staff members and their families can get the care they need when they need it,” Mr Lutz said.

“When the people who support our students are healthy and supported, our entire community benefits.”
