NICEVILLE, Fla. — Sara Houghton of Niceville has been recognized by Eglin Federal Credit Union for 25 years of service as Indirect Lending Manager.

Ms Houghton was honored during a celebration on Sept. 16 at the Operations Center in Fort Walton Beach. SVP of Branch Operations Bron Ringstad praised her leadership and commitment.
“Today, we celebrate Sara’s incredible 25-year journey with Eglin FCU and the many roles she’s excelled in along the way,” Mr Ringstad said.
“Her talent and leadership have always stood out to me — she knows how to keep her team aligned and the ship sailing smoothly. Watching her growth over the years has been truly inspiring. When you look around this room, it’s clear how deeply her team respects and cares for her — and that speaks volumes about her character.”
Ms Houghton began her career at Eglin Federal Credit Union on Sept. 18, 2000, as a full-time PAL Processor. Two years later, she advanced to Senior PAL Assistant. In June 2005, she transitioned to the Destin Branch as a Loan Counselor, and in November 2006, she was promoted to Loan Supervisor, a position she held for more than seven years.

In August 2014, Ms Houghton began specializing in dealer-based financing as an Indirect Lending Officer. Her continued growth led to her promotion to Indirect Lending Supervisor in August 2020 and ultimately to Indirect Lending Manager in February 2021.
“It’s been a wonderful 25 years at Eglin FCU. I truly love what I do, and I’m deeply grateful for all the amazing people I’ve had the honor of working and growing with over the years,” said Ms Houghton said during her celebration.
“I cherish the memories we’ve made together and look forward to creating even more in the years ahead.”
