NICEVILLE, Fla. — The City of Niceville will celebrate Independence Day with the annual Fourth of July Boggy Bayou fireworks show on Friday, July 4, beginning at 8:45 p.m.
Also known as Light Up the Bayou, the 2025 fireworks display will offer a dazzling celebration of sound and color over Boggy Bayou. The event is presented by the Light Up The Bayou Committee in partnership with the cities of Niceville and Valparaiso.
Festivities at Lions Park will begin at 3 p.m. with food trucks, followed by live music starting at 6 p.m. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at dusk, around 8:45 p.m., and will last approximately 20 minutes.
Spectators can enjoy the show from several waterfront locations, including Lincoln Park, Lions Park, Kiwanis Park, Shipyard Point Park, and Niceville Landing. Early arrival is recommended for those bringing lawn chairs or blankets. Many also gather at nearby businesses and parking areas to view the show.
The fireworks are funded entirely through community donations.
As part of the day’s celebration, Bayshore Drive near Lions Park will be closed to thru traffic from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., allowing only pedestrian access and local resident travel.
