New COVID cases decreased last week in Okaloosa schools

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The number of new COVID-19 cases among students and staff fell during the past week in Okaloosa County public schools compared to the previous week.

There were 426 new COVID-19 cases reported in the week ending January 28, down from 531 new cases during the previous seven-day period, according to the Okaloosa County School District’s COVID-19 dashboard.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the overall positivity rate among students is 11.56 percent, according to the OCSD.

Elementary School Average – 11.09%

Middle School Average – 12.15%

High School Average – 11.20%
