The incident reportedly occurred around 5:20 a.m. Deputies said the driver of a black Dodge Charger was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, which then caught fire.

Deputies attempted CPR on the victim and used extinguishers in an effort to control the flames. The Destin Fire Department responded and successfully extinguished the fire. Emergency Medical Services personnel pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing, according to the OCSO.
