OKALOOSA AND WALTON COUNTIES, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation has announced multiple lane closures and traffic shifts across Okaloosa and Walton counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities this week.
OKALOOSA COUNTY
— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers will encounter a minor traffic shift on Santa Rosa Boulevard from just south of U.S. 98 to the roundabout north of U.S. 98. The roundabout remains partially closed, and the entrance to Marler Park is accessible from the northwest roundabout exit. This temporary traffic pattern is expected to remain until mid-2026.
Intermittent lane closures are scheduled Sunday, February 15, through Thursday, February 19, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Santa Rosa Boulevard from U.S. 98 to Ross Marler Park and on U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road.
— State Road 85 Resurfacing from U.S. 98 to Richbourg Avenue
Alternating lane closures on State Road 85 are planned Sunday, February 15, through Thursday, February 19, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for manhole and valve adjustments.
— U.S. 98 and State Road 293 Resurfacing Project
Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 from Paraiso Boulevard to Regions Way, and on State Road 293 (Danny Wuerffel Way) from U.S. 98 to the Mid-Bay Bridge, Sunday, February 15 through Thursday, February 19, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for sidewalk repairs.
— Interstate 10 Eastbound Rest Area and Truck Parking Improvement
Truck parking is now open at the Interstate 10 eastbound rest area near mile marker 60. Remaining construction activities are scheduled for completion in late 2026.
— Interstate 10 Resurfacing from east of Shoal River Bridge to west of State Road 285
Drivers will encounter alternating daytime westbound lane closures between mile markers 59 and 70, Monday, February 16, through Thursday, February 19, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for paving operations.
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road
Shoulder closures are expected at A-21 Road and U.S. 98 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, February 16, through Friday, February 20, for utility relocation.
Lane and shoulder closures are also scheduled Sunday, February 15, through Thursday, February 19, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for median improvements.
— State Road 85 Improvements from State Road 123 to Hospital Drive
Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures between State Road 123 and the Shoal River Bridge, Monday, February 16, through Friday, February 20, for thermoplastic striping. Northbound closures are set from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and southbound closures from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
WALTON COUNTY
— Western Lake Bridge Replacement
Drivers may encounter temporary County Road 30A traffic stoppages near Western Lake Bridge Monday, February 16, through Saturday, February 21, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Delays are expected to last less than 15 minutes, and flaggers will direct traffic.
— U.S. 331 Resurfacing from south of Interstate 10 to U.S. 90
Drivers will encounter intermittent and alternating lane closures Sunday, February 15, through Thursday, February 19, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for milling and paving operations.
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather. The Florida Department of Transportation urges drivers to use caution, especially at night, and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
