The morning gathering gave students an opportunity to meet police officers, deputies, and corrections officers face-to-face and thank them with high-fives and smiles.

According to the Niceville Police Department, the event served as a reminder of the positive relationships between schools and first responders in the Niceville community.

Representatives from James E. Plew Elementary School, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Niceville Police Department, and Okaloosa County Corrections participated in the event.

The Niceville Police Department said the students’ excitement and enthusiasm made the morning memorable for everyone involved.
