FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – A Fort Walton Beach area man was allegedly attacked and stabbed with a knife by a Texas man, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has announced.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), the local man is recovering from three stab wounds after he was attacked at a home off Pinewood Trace Saturday evening.

Timothy Attaway, 24, of Dallas, Texas, has been charged by the OCSO with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.

According to the OCSO, witnesses of the attack said the victim made a joke or comment that reportedly angered Attaway, who then began a fight with the victim before reportedly pulling a knife and cutting him in several areas.

The OCSO said the 31-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. He is expected to survive.
