FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Eglin Federal Credit Union has named Member Service Supervisor Gerta Hardy its 5-Star Performer for the third quarter of 2025, the credit union announced.

Ms Hardy, who resides in Crestview, has been employed with Eglin Federal Credit Union (Eglin FCU) since February 2014. The 5-Star Performer Award is a quarterly recognition program that highlights employees who best exemplify Eglin FCU’s core values: respectful, trustworthy, dedicated, proactive, and engaged.
Ms Hardy was nominated by a colleague who commended her leadership, resilience, and positivity, particularly during a difficult summer period marked by staffing transitions and air-conditioning issues. According to the nominator, she stepped in to support both Member Services and Teller operations, keeping morale high and ensuring smooth service for members.
“Today we celebrate Gerta,” said Eglin Branch Manager Nikki Quimby.
“Every day, she brings energy, focus, and a sense of unity to our team. Her dedication keeps us motivated and connected. Gerta is truly exceptional — the definition of a 5-star employee.”

Ms Hardy began her career with Eglin FCU in 2014 as a part-time teller at the Eglin Branch and quickly advanced to full-time status the following year. She was promoted to Member Service Counselor in 2016 and then to Member Service Supervisor in 2023.
Over the years, she has served members at the Eglin, North Crestview, and South Crestview branches, gaining extensive frontline and supervisory experience.
“I truly love my team and the company I work for. It means so much to me to lead such an incredible group — they genuinely make my job easy,” Ms Hardy said.
“It’s an honor to represent Eglin FCU. With the new Eglin AFB branch on the horizon, we’re excited for what’s ahead. Get ready for Team Eglin!”
