DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. — Two men from DeFuniak Springs have been arrested and charged in connection with a home burglary where a leaf blower, cooler, and other items were reportedly removed from the victim’s porch, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) has announced.
According to the WCSO, the alleged burglary is captured on a home surveillance video.
Jack Adair III is charged with burglary, petit theft, dealing in stolen property, and criminal mischief. His alleged accomplice, William Parker, is charged with petit theft and dealing in stolen property, the WCSO said.
According to the WCSO, on September 10, Adair was identified from security camera footage on a property off Imperial Court in DeFuniak Springs using a knife to cut a screen door and gain access to the victim’s back porch.
Adair is seen in the video stealing a leaf blower, cooler, and other items, the WCSO said.
Also on camera, a dark-colored truck belonging to William Parker pulls up to Adair near the home where Adair is seen, the WCSO said in its statement.
The WCSO said Adair placed the stolen items into the bed of the truck, and the truck then headed southbound on Imperial Court.
The following day, deputies said they were able to track Adair to his last known location at the Sundown Inn, where they reportedly recovered the stolen items.
The WCSO said that Adair was arrested following a traffic stop a short time later.
Parker was arrested at his home on Aero Drive, the WCSO said.
The WCSO said Adair was given a $10,000 bond, and Parker was given a $5,000 bond.
