April 6 COVID-19 report for Okaloosa, Niceville

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health on Tuesday reported 18 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County. There are two new cases in Niceville and Valparaiso.

The FDOH reports 685 vaccinations were administered in Okaloosa County the previous day. The cumulative number of people vaccinated in Okaloosa is 45,424. The number of people who have completed the vaccination series in Okaloosa is 30,736, according to FDOH data.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa is 19,834.

The FDOH reports the total number of people killed by COVID-19 in Okaloosa is 353, no change since the previous report.

Statewide, 5,556 new cases were reported by the FDOH. The current cumulative total is 2,090,862. The total number of Florida residents who have died from COVID-19 in the state is 33,780.

The cumulative number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa is 711, no change since the previous day. Currently, there are 13 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.

According to the FDOH, since the previous report, there were 375 test results returned in Okaloosa with 17 positives. The daily positivity rate is 4.53 percent.

According to the FDOH, Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate is 3.73 percent for the week ending April 3, down from 5.12 percent the previous week.

Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 9.4 percent (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.
