April 12 COVID-19, vaccination report for Okaloosa, Niceville

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health on Monday reported 7 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County. There is one new case in Niceville and Valparaiso.

The FDOH reports 46 vaccinations were administered in Okaloosa County the previous day. The cumulative number of people vaccinated in Okaloosa is 50,530. The number of people who have completed the vaccination series in Okaloosa is 34,528, according to FDOH data.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa is 19,961.

The FDOH reports the total number of people killed by COVID-19 in Okaloosa is 357, one more death since the previous report.

Statewide, 1,613 new cases were reported by the FDOH. The current cumulative total is 2,125,846. The total number of Florida residents who have died from COVID-19 in the state is 34,056.

The cumulative number of hospitalizations in Okaloosa is 718, two more since the previous day. Currently, there are 7 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.

According to the FDOH, since the previous report, there were 48 test results returned in Okaloosa with 7 positives. The daily positivity rate is 14.58 percent.

According to the FDOH, Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate is 5.81 percent for the week ending April 10, up from 3.73 percent the previous week.

Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 10.0 percent (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.
