OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Okaloosa Saves has been recognized with the 2026 Savings Champion Award for its efforts to promote financial wellness during this year’s America Saves Week campaign.
The award, presented by America Saves, recognizes organizations that effectively encouraged individuals and families to adopt saving strategies during America Saves Week, held April 6-10 as part of Financial Literacy Month.
Okaloosa Saves was one of 20 organizations nationwide selected for the honor from more than 5,300 participating organizations.
“We are honored to celebrate these organizations for their leadership and commitment to helping people build stronger financial futures,” said Amy Miller, director of America Saves.
“The success of America Saves Week is made possible by partners who meet consumers where they are and provide practical opportunities to save, plan, and build financial confidence. These organizations went beyond simply raising awareness; they empowered consumers to take action. Together, we are helping millions of Americans take small steps that lead to lasting financial progress.”
According to America Saves, participating organizations collectively reached more than 22.59 million people during the campaign and encouraged approximately $169 million in deposits into new and existing savings accounts.
“We’re honored to be recognized among a select group of organizations nationwide for our commitment to advancing financial wellness,” said Laura Coale, board chair of Okaloosa Saves.
“This distinction reflects the dedication of our partners and the real progress being made by individuals and families across Northwest Florida. At Okaloosa Saves, we remain focused on empowering our community with the tools and support needed to build savings, reduce debt, and achieve long-term financial stability.”
America Saves is a program of the Consumer Federation of America that motivates, encourages, and supports American households to save money, reduce debt, and build wealth through year-round financial education.
