PENSACOLA, Fla. — The Honor H.E.R. Foundation will unveil 16 new portraits of women veterans as part of its expanded “We See You” Photo Exhibit during a June 13 event at the Pensacola VET Center.
According to the Honor H.E.R. Foundation, the exhibit was created to highlight the service and sacrifices of women veterans whose contributions have often been overlooked throughout American history.
The exhibit’s reveal comes during the nation’s 250th anniversary year and will feature portraits that showcase the lives, personalities, and experiences of women veterans beyond their military service.
The June 13 event will include 16 newly added portraits representing veterans from different military branches and eras of service. It is free and open to the public.
Visitors will also have an opportunity to learn about the women’s personal stories, including their military service, transition to civilian life, and accomplishments after serving their country.
The event is also intended to provide a community gathering focused on recognition, healing, and increasing awareness of the experiences of women veterans.
“As our country celebrates 250 years, it is impossible to tell the American story without telling theirs,” the Honor H.E.R. Foundation said.
“These women stood watch, carried the weight of duty, and protected freedoms they were not always fully granted. This exhibit is our promise that they will be seen, honored, and remembered.”
The Honor H.E.R. Foundation said the exhibit serves as both an artistic tribute and a reminder that honoring veterans requires ongoing support and commitment.
The nonprofit organization provides housing assistance, resources, and support services to homeless and at-risk women veterans across Northwest Florida.
The “We See You” Photo Exhibit reveal will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 13 at the Pensacola VET Center, 4918 Mobile Highway in Pensacola.
