OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will begin a $7.9 million resurfacing and improvement project this month on U.S. 98 from the Santa Rosa County line to west of Josie Road.
According to FDOT, the project will include milling and resurfacing the roadway, updating signage and pavement markings, and extending the left-turn lane at Avenue Du Fontaine Bleau.
Plans also call for widening the right-turn lane and median opening at A-21 Road, adding a curb extension at Green Drive, and making modifications to the median.
Drivers may experience intermittent nighttime lane closures and restrictions between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. while work is underway. The FDOT said the project is scheduled for completion in late 2026.
