CRESTVIEW, Fla. — A Pensacola woman faces numerous charges after being arrested and accused of posing as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and working at a Crestview healthcare facility while allegedly using the stolen identity of another person.

Susan Mae Igus, 30, is charged with one count each of Practicing Without a Certified Nursing Assistant License, Use and Possession of Another Person’s Identification, Uttering a False Instrument, Providing False Information to Law Enforcement, Obtaining Money By Fraud, Using a False Name to Obtain Employment, and four counts of Uttering a False Instrument/Document, said the Crestview Police Department (CPD).

According to the CPD, Igus was recently released from incarceration after serving an 18-month sentence for posing as a CNA in Gulf Breeze in December 2021.

The CPD said Igus began working at the Crestview Rehabilitation Center at the beginning of July 2023 after reportedly providing the stolen identification, birth certificate, and nursing assistant certifications during her hiring process.

The alleged scheme was discovered after the victim, whose identity was stolen, received a letter from Crestview Rehabilitation Center thanking her as an employee at the facility. The victim then contacted the Crestview Police Department, leading to the investigation.

On August 22, Igus was arrested at the Crestview Rehabilitation Center while allegedly working under the identity theft victim’s name and was transported to the Okaloosa County Jail without incident.
