Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution (OSP) charged the pair with organized retail theft and grand theft. Erica Armbrister and Andre Williams are alleged to have stolen more than $10,000 worth of Prevagen and other items from Walgreens pharmacies across the state. Prevagen is an over-the-counter supplement aimed at healthy brain function and memory improvement.

From September 2022 to January 2023, the duo reportedly stole items from stores in eight Florida cities.

“This criminal duo thought they could get away with stealing more than $10,000 worth of items from eight different Walgreens stores throughout the state, but they were wrong. Florida is a law-and-order state, and these defendants now face serious felony charges,” said Moody.

The investigation began when $1,200 worth of Prevagen was reported stolen from a Walgreens in Martin County. According to Moody, the defendants entered stores together, one serving as a lookout while the other swiped products into coats or bags.

Armbrister and Williams allegedly utilized a key to unlock anti-theft containers and cases to access the merchandise. According to Moody’s announcement, the defendants then sold products to pawn shops for cash.

In a four-month period, the duo is accused of stealing Prevagen and other items, including skincare products, from Walgreens pharmacies in Cooper City, Hollywood, Jensen Beach, Melbourne, North Fort Myers, St. Petersburg, Stuart, and Valrico.

Armbrister is charged with two counts of organized retail theft and six counts of grand theft. Williams is charged with one count of organized retail theft and two counts of grand theft.

The OSP will handle the case.
