NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health Tuesday reported 102 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County. In Niceville and Valparaiso, there are 24 new cases.
The cumulative number of cases in Okaloosa now stands at 8,456.
Statewide, 8,555 new cases were reported by the FDOH.
The FDOH reports the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Okaloosa County is 145, no change.
Currently, there are 46 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals.

According to the FDOH, there were 718 test results returned in Okaloosa with 103 positives. The daily positivity rate is 14.35 percent, up from 11.0 percent the previous day.
As a rule of thumb, the threshold for the percent positive being “too high” is five percent according to the Centers for Disease Control.
According to the FDOH, Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate is 16.39 percent for the week ending Nov. 21, up from 14.94 percent the previous week,
Florida’s current weekly positivity rate is 7.7 percent (7-day moving average) according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center data.
