Weekly FDOT traffic advisory for Okaloosa and Walton counties, May 12-18

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla.—Drivers in Okaloosa and Walton counties may encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads this week as crews perform construction and maintenance activities, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Here is this week’s traffic advisory.

Okaloosa County:

— Brooks Bridge
Replacement Project

Drivers may encounter the following traffic disruptions, Sunday, May 12 through Thursday, May 16, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for utility work and construction activities:

  • U.S. 98, alternating intermittent lane closures between Ferry Road and Pier Road
  • Santa Rosa Boulevard, alternating lane closures from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park

— Mid-Bay Bridge
Rehabilitation Project

Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures on the Mid-Bay Bridge from Monday, May 13, through Thursday, May 16, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. for construction activities.

— Mary Esther Boulevard
Resurfacing

Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures on Mary Esther Boulevard for concrete work and milling and paving operations at the following locations and times:

  • Sunday, May 12 through Thursday, May 16, from U.S. 98 to Hollywood Boulevard, between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
  • Sunday, May 12 through Saturday, May 18, from Hollywood Boulevard to Beal Parkway, between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

— State Road 85
Resurfacing

Drivers may encounter intermittent State Road 85 single-lane closures for paving operations between:

  • Airport Road and Butler Road, Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 17, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Commerce Drive and Butler Road, Sunday, May 12 through Thursday, May 16, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
  • Butler Road and Bill Lundy Road, Sunday, May 12 through Saturday, May 18, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

— Beal Parkway
Intersection Improvements

Drivers will encounter outside lane closures at the following intersections, Sunday, May 12 through Saturday, May 18, between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., for the installation of drilled shafts:

  • Beal Parkway at Lewis Street
  • Beal Parkway at Pelham Road

— U.S. 98
Resurfacing

Drivers may encounter intermittent U.S. 98 lane closures between Josie Road in Mary Esther and Florida Place Southeast in Fort Walton Beach from Sunday, May 12, through Thursday, May 16, between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for concrete work.

— State Road 4
Routine Bridge Inspection
On Tuesday, May 14, during a routine bridge inspection over Blackwater River, motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Walton County:

— U.S. 98
Widening
Drivers may encounter intermittent, alternating lane closures, Sunday, May 12 through Thursday, May 16, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for paving operations and signalization work at the following locations:

  • U.S. 98 between Mack Bayou Road and Couty Road 30A
  • Mack Bayou Road between U.S. 98 and Mack Bayou Loop
  • Goldsby Road between U.S. 98 and Commercial Parkway

— U.S. 98
Resurfacing

Drivers may encounter intermittent U.S. 98 lane closures from east of U.S. 331 to Peach Creek from Sunday, May 12, through Thursday, May 16, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for sod work.

— U.S. 98
Turn Lane Operations

Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 at the New Los Rancheros West of Hunters Road on Wednesday, May 15, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for turn lane operations.

All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
