FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — A water quality health advisory has been issued for three Okaloosa County parks due to elevated bacteria levels, according to the Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County.
The affected sites are Liza Jackson Park and Garniers Beach Park in Fort Walton Beach, and Lincoln Park in Valparaiso.
Recent testing conducted on March 31 reportedly found levels of Enterococcus bacteria that exceed the state’s recommended recreational water quality criteria.
Visitors are advised to avoid swimming or wading in the water at these locations until further notice. The advisory remains in effect while the department continues to monitor water conditions.
Current water testing results can be found at FloridaHealth.gov/HealthyBeaches.
