WALTON COUNTY, Fla. — A Walton County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher has been arrested after investigators said he allegedly used online gaming platforms to solicit minors for unlawful sexual conduct.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) announced the arrest of Jordan David-Lee Smith, 22, of Freeport, following a criminal investigation into reports of online exploitation involving minors.
According to the WCSO, the investigation began in December 2025 after the agency received multiple CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding suspected online solicitation occurring on gaming platforms.
Investigators said the information was linked to user accounts that were later identified as belonging to Smith, who was employed as a dispatcher with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office at the time.
The WCSO said investigators launched a comprehensive criminal investigation that included subpoenas and search warrants served to internet service providers and online platforms.
Authorities said digital records were reviewed and electronic devices were examined as part of the investigation.
Investigators said the evidence indicated Smith used the accounts to solicit more than two dozen victims between the ages of 11 and 17 for unlawful sexual conduct and to possess illegal digital material.
According to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, a residential search warrant was executed on February 24 at Smith’s home in Freeport, where multiple electronic devices were seized for forensic processing.
The WCSO said Smith was terminated from his employment with the agency that same day.
Investigators presented the findings of the investigation to the State Attorney’s Office, which issued an arrest warrant, the WCSO said.
Authorities said Smith was taken into custody at his home in Freeport on the morning of March 5 and booked into the Walton County Jail without bond pending his first appearance.
According to investigators, Smith faces two counts of possession of child pornography, 25 counts of solicitation of a minor for unlawful sexual conduct, and 25 counts of use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.
“The actions uncovered during this investigation are deeply troubling and represent a profound violation of the trust placed in anyone who serves this agency,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson.
“As stated before, our employees will be held to the highest standards, and when those standards are betrayed, especially in a way that harms children, we will not hesitate to act swiftly.”
