Walton County drivers may face traffic disruptions due to roadwork

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Walton County this week as crews perform construction and maintenance activities, the Florida Department of Transportation has announced.

WALTON COUNTY TRAFFIC ADVISORY, August 18-24, 2024

— U.S. 331, Intersection Improvements from South of I-10 to U.S. 90
Drivers may encounter intermittent U.S. 331 lane closures at the following locations and times:

  • U.S. 331 northbound inside lane closure, from Coy Burgess Road to Business Park Road, Sunday, Aug. 18 through Thursday, Aug. 22, between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. for turn-lane construction
  • U.S. 331 northbound outside travel lane and right-turn lane, Between Corbett Drive and Walton Plaza business access road, Monday, Aug. 19 through Friday, Aug. 23, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for manhole adjustments. During the closures, drivers can make right-turn movements from the adjacent travel lane

— State Road 83 Routine Maintenance South of I-10
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures Sunday, Aug 18 and Monday, Aug. 19 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for traffic signal operations.

All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
