OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers in Okaloosa and Walton counties can expect lane closures and other traffic disruptions this week as crews continue construction, resurfacing, inspection, and maintenance work, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
OKALOOSA COUNTY
— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road and on Santa Rosa Boulevard from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park from Sunday, Oct. 4, through Thursday, Oct. 8, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for construction activities.
— State Road 85 Resurfacing Project from U.S. 98 to Richbourg Avenue
Motorists may encounter intermittent lane closures between U.S. 98 and Richbourg Avenue from Sunday, Oct. 4, through Thursday, Oct. 8, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for construction activities.
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road
Shoulder closures are expected throughout the project limits from Monday, Oct. 5, through Friday, Oct. 9, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for permit work and turn lane improvements.
— State Road 293 (Danny Wuerffel Way) Resurfacing from U.S. 98 to the Mid-Bay Bridge
Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 from Paraiso Boulevard to Regions Way and on State Road 293 (Danny Wuerffel Way) from U.S. 98 to the Mid-Bay Bridge from Sunday, Oct. 4, through Thursday, Oct. 8, for signal work and striping operations.
— State Road 293 from Mid-Bay Bridge to Range Road
Drivers may encounter intermittent nighttime lane closures from Sunday, Oct. 4, through Thursday, Oct. 8, for paving activities.
— U.S. 98 Routine Bridge Inspection over East Pass
Motorists will encounter intermittent eastbound and westbound lane closures west of State Road 293 on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a routine bridge inspection.
WALTON COUNTY
— U.S. 90 Turn Lane Operations at Bonita Drive
Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures from Monday, Oct. 5, through Friday, Oct. 9, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for turn lane operations.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled because of inclement weather. FDOT reminds drivers to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through work zones and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
