US Highway 98 traffic advisories this week on the Emerald Coast

US HIGHWAY 98, Fla.—Motorists traveling on US 98 along the Emerald Coast should be prepared for potential delays and traffic disruptions this week due to ongoing construction and maintenance activities, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This comprehensive advisory compiles FDOT’s latest updates for Bay, Walton, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Escambia counties, ensuring you have the most up-to-date information before you hit the road.

BAY COUNTY:

— U.S. 98, west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue
U.S. 98 drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures between Tyndall Drive- Airey Avenue, and Louisiana Avenue through the end of August.

— U.S. 98, Widening from Mandy Lane to east of Nautilus Street
Drivers will encounter traffic impacts on Gulf Boulevard from Monday, June 17, through Friday, June 21, for drainage installation. Drivers will have two lanes of access but should exercise caution while driving through the construction zone.

— State Road 370 (Gulf Coast Parkway)
U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) drivers will encounter a lane closure from East 11th Street to Tram Road from Monday, June 17, through Saturday, June 22, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. for turn lane construction. Traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.

— U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway), Resurfacing from Walton County Line to Heather Drive
Drivers will encounter nighttime intermittent lane closures for asphalt paving activities from Monday, June 17, through Thursday, June 20.

WALTON COUNTY:

— U.S. 98, Widening from Mack Bayou Road to County Road 30A
Drivers may encounter intermittent, alternating lane closures at the following locations, Sunday, June 16 through Thursday, June 20, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for crews to complete work list items:

  • U.S. 98 between Mack Bayou Road and C.R. 30A
  • Mack Bayou Road between U.S. 98 and Mack Bayou Loop
  • Goldsby Road between U.S. 98 and Commercial Parkway

OKALOOSA COUNTY:

— Brooks Bridge, Replacement Project
Drivers may encounter the following traffic disruptions, Sunday, June 16 through Thursday, June 20, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for utility work and construction activities:

  • U.S. 98, alternating intermittent lane closures between Ferry Road and Pier Road
  • Santa Rosa Boulevard, alternating lane closures from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park

SANTA ROSA COUNTY

— U.S. 98, Widening from Bayshore Road to Portside Drive
Motorists will encounter the following traffic impacts:

  • Median and turn-lane closures from Bayshore Road to Tiger Lake Drive
  • Intermittent lane closures and additional median closures between Bayshore Road and Tiger Lake Drive Sunday, June 16, through Friday, June 21, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for stormwater drainage improvements and paving operations

ESCAMBIA COUNTY

No FDOT advisories were issued.

All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
