OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers traveling U.S. 98 in Okaloosa, Walton, and Bay counties should expect ongoing construction activity this week as crews continue resurfacing, paving, and widening projects along the heavily traveled corridor
OKALOOSA AND WALTON COUNTIES
U.S. 98 Resurfacing — Santa Rosa County Line to west of Josie Road
Utility relocation and median improvement work will continue throughout the project area, Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12.
- Motorists should expect daytime shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work on median improvements will also take place overnight Sunday, June 7, through Thursday, June 11, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
State Road 293 (Danny Wuerffel Way) Resurfacing — U.S. 98 to Mid-Bay Bridge
Milling and paving operations will continue Sunday, June 7, through Thursday, June 11, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. along U.S. 98 from Paraiso Boulevard to Regions Way and on Danny Wuerffel Way between U.S. 98 and the Mid-Bay Bridge.
BAY COUNTY
U.S. 98 Widening — Nautilus Street to Richard Jackson Boulevard
Drivers in Panama City Beach should expect nighttime construction activity between Alf Coleman Road and Richard Jackson Boulevard, Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. as crews pave the roadway.
U.S. 98 Widening — Mandy Lane to east of Nautilus Street
Paving operations will continue Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Mandy Lane and Nautilus Street.
- The $110 million project will widen approximately 4.8 miles of U.S. 98 from Mandy Lane to Richard Jackson Boulevard and is scheduled for completion in late 2027.
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through work zones, and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
