SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. — Construction on U.S. 98 from Bayshore Road to Portside Drive is entering its final phase, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced.
According to the FDOT, crews are preparing to place the final friction course, which serves as the roadway’s surface. This work is expected to begin in May and continue through July.
Final roadway signage installation is ongoing, and permanent striping is scheduled to take place throughout the summer months.
Drivers are urged to use caution while traveling through the work zone and remain alert for crews and equipment entering and exiting the roadway. The FDOT also reminds motorists to exercise extra caution at night when visibility may be reduced.
