NICEVILLE, Fla. — The Stuff the Bus school supply drive will return to the Niceville Walmart on August 2, part of a countywide effort to ensure students across Okaloosa start the school year ready to learn, according to the Okaloosa County School District (OCSD).
The Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation announced the event will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Walmart locations in Crestview, Destin, Fort Walton Beach, and Niceville. The annual drive is timed with Florida’s Back-to-School Tax-Free Weekend to make it easier for shoppers to donate while picking up their own supplies.
In addition to the one-day collection at the Walmart stores, donation boxes will be placed at businesses across the county in the weeks leading up to the first day of school. OCSD will share updates on additional drop-off sites on its website and Facebook page.
The event is supported by the Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation, the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors, OCSD, and the Salvation Army Florida Division — Fort Walton Beach Corps.
“We are grateful for our community’s ongoing support,” said Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation Executive Director John Spolski.
“Together, we can make sure every student starts the school year with the supplies they need to succeed.”
