Jerry Cleckler Jr., of Crestview, was apprehended after deputies initiated a pursuit on County Highway 1087. Deputies had received an alert through the FLOCK camera system about a vehicle with a stolen tag.

The pursuit continued west on Highway 90 and north on State Highway 85, with speeds exceeding 100 mph.

During the chase, Mr. Cleckler reportedly endangered the public by driving the wrong way into oncoming traffic multiple times. The stolen tag was also found to display a fraudulent Florida decal, the WCSO said.
