The WCSO reported that deputies responded to a 911 call from a woman who said she had been shot by her estranged husband after he entered her home uninvited on Campbell Street.

The victim said she awoke to find him in her bedroom and was shot while attempting to flee the residence.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies reportedly found the suspect deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The incident remains under investigation. The WCSO said no further information will be released at this time to protect the victim and preserve the integrity of the case.
