September 25 COVID-19 report for Okaloosa, Niceville

NICEVILLE, Fla — The Florida Department of Health reports this morning the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Okaloosa County is 4,884, 48 more since yesterday morning. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Niceville and Valparaiso is 665.

The total number of COVID-19 -related deaths in Okaloosa County is 102, no change.

Statewide, 2,847 new cases were reported since yesterday.

The number of cumulative hospitalizations related to coronavirus in Okaloosa is 295, no change. On Thursday, there were 16 COVID-19 patients in Okaloosa County hospitals; four in ICU beds.

DeSantis OKs state moving into Phase 3 of reopening, lifting most limits

According to the state DOH, yesterday there were 615 tests returned in Okaloosa with 47 positives. The daily positivity rate was 7.64 percent.

Okaloosa County’s rolling seven-day positivity rate is 6.42 percent, which is almost two points, or 35 percent higher than the state’s rolling average of 4.75 percent.

Okaloosa’s weekly positivity rate was 6.15 percent for the week ending Saturday, Sept. 19. It was 8.3 percent for the week ending Sept. 12, and 7.33 for the week ending Sept. 5.
