OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers in Okaloosa and Walton counties can expect overnight lane closures and travel delays this week as road crews perform maintenance and construction on several major highways, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
OKALOOSA COUNTY
— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 98 from Ferry Road to Pier Road, and on Santa Rosa Boulevard from Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park. Work takes place Sunday, July 20, through Thursday, July 24, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
— Interstate 10 Resurfacing (Yellow River to Shoal River)
Alternating lane closures between mile markers 50 and 60 are planned Sunday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., for striping.
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing (Josie Road to Florida Place Southeast)
Nightly lane closures will occur in Mary Esther and Fort Walton Beach for signal and striping work, Sunday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
— State Road 85 Improvements (S.R. 123 to Hospital Drive)
Drivers may see intermittent lane closures from Hospital Drive to U.S. 90 for paving operations, 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
— State Road 85 Safety Project (Hospital Drive to U.S. 90)
Crews will continue paving during the same schedule listed above.
— Interstate 10 Resurfacing (Shoal River Bridge to S.R. 285)
Westbound I-10 lane closures are expected between mile markers 59 and 70 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
— State Road 393 Utility Maintenance at U.S. 98
Lane closures are scheduled at the intersection for Monday, July 21, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
WALTON COUNTY
— U.S. 331 Resurfacing (South of I-10 to U.S. 90)
Work includes the following closures on Monday, July 21, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.:
- Intermittent lane closures on northbound U.S. 331 and westbound U.S. 90 for barrier wall removal.
- Right-turn lane closed on northbound U.S. 331 at U.S. 90; alternate lanes remain open.
- Outside travel lane closed on westbound U.S. 90 between 11th Street and U.S. 331.
— U.S. 98 Intersection Improvements at U.S. 331
Paving will cause nighttime lane closures Sunday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
All work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled due to rain or other conditions. FDOT urges drivers to slow down, use caution in work zones, and watch for construction workers and equipment.
