MARY ESTHER, Fla. – A man is facing drug charges after deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) performed a probable cause search of his vehicle after responding to a call of a man handling a machete.
According to an OCSO press release, after receiving the call of a man with a machete, deputies responded to a parking lot at 417 Mary Esther Cut-off. After arriving, deputies reported that they located an individual there and asked him if he had anything in his possession that would get him “into trouble.”
John Peeterse, 31, of Pensacola, allegedly advised deputies that he had a metal tube he’d recently used to smoke heroin.
The OCSO said a probable cause search of his vehicle was performed and deputies found 16 grams of methamphetamine, two grams of cocaine, oxycodone tablets, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Peeterse is charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, the OCSO said.
