EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Residents may experience aircraft noise April 13-16, and  April 20 – 23, when the 43rd Fighter Squadron F-22s conduct night flying operations in the area.

Each day, approximately 14 to 18 F-22 fighter aircraft will take-off between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. and will end flying at approximately 10:30 p.m. If winds are favorable, efforts will be made to use the Runway 12/30 to the greatest extent possible to minimize noise in the community.

A 325th Fighter Wing pilot waits in his F-22A Raptor as his aircraft is refueled during a hot pit session June 13 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Hot pitting allows for aircrew to fly back to back missions without having to shut down the aircraft. The 96th Petroleum Oil and Lubricants Flight Airmen and civilians fueled the jets via trucks to deconflict with F-35 Lightning II refueling at the hot pit station throughout the week. The Raptors moved to Eglin after Tyndall was hit by Hurricane Michael in October. (U.S. Air Force photo/Samuel King Jr.)

These operations are a required part of the 43rd FS training operations. For more information, please call the Team Eglin public affairs office at 882-3931.
