Public’s help sought in search for Fort Walton Beach murder suspect

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking the public for help in locating a murder suspect.

The OCSO is looking for 20-year-old John W. Galvao-Sahb of Fort Walton Beach.

Galvao-Sahb is wanted on a count of first-degree premeditated murder in the shooting death of Earnest Riggs Jr., according to the OCSO. The fatal shooting that took place March 17, 2021, on Vincent Lane in Fort Walton Beach.

An Okaloosa judge signed an arrest warrant yesterday for Galvao-Sahb.

According to the OCSO, witnesses said they spotted a young man dressed in black walking toward the truck and shooting a handgun directly at Riggs, who was sitting inside the vehicle. The shooter, later identified as Galvao-Sahb, then ran from the scene.

Galvao-Sahb had an address on Patio Road in Fort Walton Beach prior to the murder but left the area shortly afterward.
