OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers should prepare for overnight lane closures and traffic disruptions on several state roads in Okaloosa and Walton counties this week, including U.S. 98, Interstate 10, State Road 85, and the Mid-Bay Bridge. In Walton County, U.S. 331 resurfacing will continue, including a long-term closure of the left-turn lane near U.S. 90.
OKALOOSA COUNTY:
— Brooks Bridge Replacement Project
Alternating lane closures are planned on U.S. 98 between Ferry Road and Pier Road, and on Santa Rosa Boulevard from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park, nightly from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
— Interstate 10 Resurfacing
Crews will close lanes on I-10 between mile markers 50 and 56 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving. An eastbound inside (left) lane will also be closed between mile markers 56 and 59 on Tuesday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for asphalt testing.
— U.S. 98 Resurfacing
Expect intermittent lane closures on U.S. 98 between Josie Road in Mary Esther and Florida Place Southeast in Fort Walton Beach from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for paving and thermoplastic striping.
— State Road 85 Resurfacing & Safety Improvements
Intermittent closures will occur from Hospital Drive to U.S. 90 from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for concrete and guardrail work.
— Mid-Bay Bridge Rehabilitation
Intermittent lane closures are scheduled on the Mid-Bay Bridge from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. for construction work.
WALTON COUNTY:
— U.S. 331 Resurfacing Project
A temporary closure of the U.S. 331 northbound left-turn lane to U.S. 90 westbound will begin the week of April 6 and may remain for 4 to 6 weeks. One left-turn lane and one right-turn lane will stay open. Intermittent lane closures are also planned between south of I-10 and U.S. 90, nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
All work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of bad weather. Drivers are urged to use caution in work zones, especially at night, and to watch for workers and equipment.
