FLORIDA – The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement (OALE) announced yesterday it arrested an Orlando man for allegedly tampering with a fuel pump at a 7-11 store in Volusia County.
According to the FDACS, the OALE arrested Magdiel Echevarria-Martinez of Orlando following a criminal investigation.
The FDACS said the investigation was opened on March 17, 2022, after the OALE obtained surveillance video of Echevarria-Martinez tampering with a fuel pump at a 7-11 in Volusia County.
On April 12, 2022, acting on evidence obtained during the investigation, OALE investigators obtained an arrest warrant from the 7th Judicial Circuit for Echevarria-Martinez for the following charges:
- Violation of Section 815.06 (3)(b)(2), Florida Statutes, Unauthorized access to Electronic Equipment; Second-degree Felony; 1 count.
- Violation of Section 817.034(4)(a)(3), Florida Statutes, Scheme to Defraud; Third-degree Felony; 1 count.
- Violation of Section 806.13(1)(b)(3), Florida Statutes, Criminal Mischief, Interruption or Impairment to a business operation; Third-degree Felony; 1 count.
On April 14, 2022, Echevarria-Martinez was taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail with a $60,0000 bond, the FDACS said.
