The project is part of Okaloosa Technical College’s hands-on training, providing students with real-world experience in construction, electrical work, and other skilled trades. Students in several programs work together on the homes, which are designed to be fully functional and ready for new owners.

Okaloosa Technical College Director Jon Williams said the tiny home work continues a long-standing tradition at the school.

“Okaloosa Technical College has been building these and similar houses for decades. When it comes to skilled labor and trades, there is no better way to learn than by doing!” said Mr Williams.

“Our students from multiple programs, including Building Trades, Carpentry, Electrical, and HVAC, collaborate to produce high-quality, functional homes that reflect their growing skills and professionalism.”

The district has also highlighted the effort in a video titled “OTC Tiny Homes Project,” giving viewers a closer look at the construction process and classroom connection.

Mr Williams said the homes show how deeply Okaloosa Technical College is invested in applied learning and workforce preparation.

“OTC is deeply committed to hands-on, experiential training. Our programs immerse students in real-world projects, preparing them for careers in the local workforce,” said Mr Williams.

“These tiny homes not only provide practical learning opportunities, but they also benefit our community. Four lucky buyers will have the chance to own one of these exceptional homes, so bring your bids!”

District leaders say OTC’s Tiny Home Project reflects Okaloosa County School District’s broader career and technical education mission. The work is intended to give students confidence with tools, safety practices, and industry standards, while also creating a tangible product that serves families in the region.
